Privacy Policy — Homercidal Recipes / Recipe Photos
Last updated: October 26, 2026
About the application
Homercidal Recipes is a personal recipe organizer. Recipe Photos is its Google-connected photo feature. The application is operated for the owner’s personal use and is not offered as a public account-registration service.
Information accessed and its purpose
The application reads and updates recipe titles, ingredients, measurements, instructions, comments, and photo references in a designated Google Sheet.
With the owner’s authorization, Recipe Photos creates a Recipe Photos folder in Google Drive, uploads selected dish photos, and retrieves those photos for display. It requests the drive.file permission, which limits access to files created by or specifically authorized for the application.
This information is used to organize, synchronize, and display recipes and dish photos.
Storage and security
Recipes and photos are stored in the owner’s Google account. Downloaded recipe data, cached photos, and recipe backups are also stored on the computers running the application.
Google authorization tokens and service-account credentials are stored on those computers. They are not included in the public website or sent to the phone browser.
Sharing and data use
The application does not sell recipe information or photos, use them for advertising, or intentionally publish them. Data is transmitted to Google to provide the requested storage and synchronization features. Anyone granted access to the local recipe application may view the recipes and photos it serves.
The application’s use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
Data remains stored until the owner removes it. Replacing or removing a photo in the recipe editor does not delete the previous image from Google Drive or from existing local caches.
To remove stored information completely, the owner must delete the relevant cloud files and local copies, including caches and backups.
Revoking access
The owner can revoke Recipe Photos’ access through the third-party connections settings of their Google Account. Spreadsheet access can be revoked by removing the service account from the spreadsheet’s sharing settings.
Revoking access prevents future authorized access but does not automatically delete existing cloud files or downloaded copies.
